Welcome to our 4th Grade ELA classroom. We will be learning the Arizona State 4th Grade College and Career Standards throughout the school year through nonfiction and fiction text; developing narrative, informational, and functional text; practicing grammar; expanding our vocabulary; and cultivating speaking and listening skills.

About Me

My family of 6 moved to the Gilbert area in 1997 from California via Oregon. All four of our sons traversed the hallways of Gilbert Public schools. I have been teaching 4th grade for going on 18 years with a focus of English Language Arts the last three years, and have enjoyed every minute of those years. In my spare time, I love to read, garden, and spend time with my family. I am the proud grandma of 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Two of my sons and their families live in the area, while the other two live in the Seattle, Washington area. My two grandsons that live here in Gilbert, are now traveling through the Gilbert Public schools as a Kindergartner and a second graders here at HPE. In December 2017, I became a National Board Certified teacher in Literacy-Reading and Language Arts. Spring of 2018, I was nominated as HPE's Teacher of the Year, and then became one of three finalists for the Gilbert Public School Teacher of the Year.
